How to Edit and Update Your NFC Tags

JP / EN

All NFC tags embedded in products purchased at the item shop® Official Shop can be configured and changed by you. By editing and updating your NFC tags, you can automate actions such as:

  • Open your favorite website

  • Launch music streaming apps

  • Link directly to your SNS profile

  • Launch navigation apps automatically

  • Send SMS messages

Furthermore, more advanced configurations are possible by leveraging apps like the standard "Shortcuts" app on iPhone, or "Tasker" on Android. This allows you to execute multiple actions in a batch, such as setting an alarm, turning off the lights, and adjusting the air conditioner simultaneously.

Please use the methods introduced below as a reference and consider ways to utilize the tags that best fit your lifestyle.

For example:

  • Start your day with a tap—open transit routes, start your playlist, and turn on Do Not Disturb as you head out.

  • Tap to launch navigation, connect Bluetooth, and adjust volume for a safer, hands‑free drive.

  • A single tap opens your streaming app, starts your mix, and switches to your favorite EQ.

  • Tap at your desk to join the meeting, open today’s document, and set a focus timer for deep work.

What is an NFC Tag?

NFC (Near Field Communication) is a technology that allows communication between devices, such as smartphones, within about 4 cm. Information can be exchanged simply by holding devices close or lightly touching them.

An NFC tag is a small chip utilizing this technology, typically found in the form of stickers or cards. By simply holding a smartphone over the tag, a pre-configured action can be executed automatically. NFC technology is widely utilized around us, including in transit IC cards and mobile payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay).
